Foundation of Experience:
Middle Tennessee school of Anesthesia is known for its diverse clinical rotations. MTSA has over 17 different clinical sites that has allowed me to experience different patient populations, procedures, and specialty cases. With MTSA's integrative teaching method, I was subjected to the operating room after six weeks of enrollment. This teaching style allowed me to have a better understanding of anesthesia not only in the classroom, but also applying daily concepts and techniques hands-on in the workplace. As a senior, MTSA clinical rotations have an average of fifty scheduled hours per week and up to five consecutive days thus drastically exceeding the COA clinical hour requirement. At the conclusion of this program, I will have been exposed to all of the following specialties in during my senior year alone:
Obstetrics rotation: September 2018-October 2018
Cardiac rotation: October 2018-December 2018
Regional rotation: December 2018-January 2019
Pediatric rotation: January 2019-March 2019
2nd Cardiac rotation: April 2019-April 2019
Trauma rotation: April 2019-July 2019
